Color Grading Workshop - Film Looks & Color Balancing
Film Looks & Color Balancing will be a hands on approach continuation of the tools that
have been learned in the previous workshop, Introduction to Color Grading in Davinci
Resolve. Over two days, participants will establish a look for their film and balance a
sequence to cohesion. The workshop will take the shape of a working classroom, mixing in person tutorials, lectures and assignments. Participants will be making color assessments
and moodboards, choosing keyshots, developing workflows, and comparing results with
different tools and versions. Participants will also be taking eye-healing breaks inbetween. A goal of this workshop is to finish a well-balanced sequence with its own look, but the main goal is to learn color grading by doing.
REQUIREMENTS: a laptop with Davinci Resolve installed and running, and a minimum
knowledge of the software’s interface. In case of bringing an own project, the sequence
should be limited to 30 different shots.
Test footage will be made available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own
footage or projects if they prefer. The workshop is open to any student and priority will be
given to students who attended the first workshop.
